Dean of the School of Business

Meredith College seeks nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the School of Business. The Dean is the chief academic and administrative officer of the School of Business and reports directly to the Provost and Senior Vice President. The new Dean is anticipated to take office by July of 2021.

The new Dean will play a pivotal role in setting the strategic direction for the School by strengthening current programs and developing new initiatives, enhancing instruction and scholarship, and leading outreach efforts to the business community that result in partnerships and resources to benefit students. The School of Business seeks a Dean who will engage with its strong culture of collaboration and support and become a strategic partner with faculty, staff, and Meredith's leadership to further expand the footprint of the College at large.

Reaccredited by AACSB International in the Spring of 2020, the School offers 3 undergraduate programs: the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting, Human Resource Management, and Marketing; the Bachelor of Arts in Economics; and a recently added Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management program. The School also has a robust offering of undergraduate minors in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Entrepreneurship and Family Business, Finance, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Human Resource Management, and Marketing. At the graduate level, the Meredith Master of Business Administration offers concentrations in Human Resource Management, Innovation Management, Project Management, and Entrepreneurship and Family Business. It also offers a Business Foundations Certificate. The School enrolls 180 undergraduate and 60 graduate students and has 15 full time and five part time faculty members.

Meredith College is a private, residential women's liberal arts college and coeducational graduate school in Raleigh, North Carolina with a strong academic reputation. Meredith enrolls approximately 1,600 women in its undergraduate programs and 300 women and men in its graduate programs.

The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience with AACSB accreditation, fundraising skills, a history of success in working within a business community, and the ability to envision and provide leadership to advance the School of Business. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are critical, as are openness, integrity, and a spirit of collaboration. Meredith College seeks candidates who have a thorough understanding of the business environment and education at the collegiate level, and considerable academic administrative experience. A strong candidate will have an earned doctorate and a record of teaching and scholarship that supports appointment to the rank of Professor in the School of Business.
