Applications are invited for a tenure-track social work faculty position in the Department of Social Work available Fall Semester, 2021.

We are seeking one tenure track appointment at the Assistant or Associate level, depending on experience, to assist with our program expansion.

Candidates are expected to have knowledge of the principles and methods for curriculum design in social work education (especially CSWE EPAS ) and knowledge of social work practice, policy, research, theory, and field. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to the NASW Code of Ethics and communicate specific ways they teach these standards to undergraduate and/or graduate students.

We are especially interested in those with experience in gerontology, clinical addictions and mental health, rural communities, leadership/non-profit management and/or macro social work.

Teach social work courses across the curriculum, conduct research in their area of interest, provide professional/ academic service for the university and community.

A. Teaching: Teach (nine) 9 hours of social work courses each academic semester. Teaching assignments may include BSW or MSW courses in policy, theory, practice and program evaluation, gerontology, health, leadership and management, rural practice, or mental health and addictions.

B. Research: Pursue a defined research agenda that results in publications, presentations, creative works, and external funding that support and advance social work knowledge. Demonstrate knowledge of recent scholarly developments in areas of specialization and incorporate into teaching. Faculty member/s hired at the Associate faculty rank must demonstrate research experience and productivity commensurate with this rank.

C. Service: Actively contribute to the intellectual and professional life of the Department of Social Work, the College of Health, Ball State University, and the social work community at the local, state, and national levels.

D. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Department Chair.

Minimum Qualifications

A. Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE -accredited program
B. Earned doctorate in social work or related discipline by time of appointment
C. Two (2) years of post- MSW practice experience
D. Record of scholarship and plans for future research as evidenced by a statement of research.

Authorization to work in the US

Preferred Qualifications

A. Two (2) or more years teaching experience at undergraduate or graduate level
B. Three (3) or more years post- MSW practice experience in a clinical setting (eg., addictions, aging, health, or mental health)
C. Scholarly publication and a record of grant funding (eg., peer-reviewed journal articles, submitted/funded grant proposals)
D. Clinical License in social work ( LCSW ) or addictions ( LCAC )
E. History of university or professional service
F. Experience with program administration, supervision, and leadership
