Tenure Track - Assistant Professor - Technology Management

Position Category: Faculty - Tenure Track (FT)

Summary:
Technology Management is seeking a Tenure Track Assistant Professor. This position primarily designs and teaches undergraduate and graduate technology management courses, directs course projects, coordinates degree and program related matters, and engages in scholarly activities and service in line with the mission of a teaching university. Requires the willingness and ability to teach courses online, as well as designing and teaching courses with engaging methods. This department serves both traditional and non-traditional college students and maintains a student-oriented approach to education.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation with a Doctoral degree or ABD may be considered at time of application (must have degree in hand no later than start of classes) in Technology Management or a technology management related field (e.g. industrial engineering, engineering management, project management, operations management) from an accredited institution.

Candidates should also possess:
  • Evidence of potential for effective teaching in line with the mission of a large teaching university.
  • Evidence of potential for effective scholarship in line with the mission of a large teaching university.
  • Evidence of potential for effective service in line with the mission of a large teaching university.
  • Knowledge and skills in current theories, strategies, and techniques in technology management or a related field engineering management.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of subject matter and curriculum development, including online teaching in the areas of: project management, engineering management, and/or technology management.
  • Knowledge of teaching through implementation of appropriate pedagogy, clear presentation, and preparation.
  • Ability to implement instructional strategies and techniques to effectively teach course content.
  • Knowledge of student management, motivation, and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of development and assessment of curriculum.
  • Ability to supervise undergraduate or industrial research projects.
  • Ability to work with the opportunities and challenges of a rapidly growing and dynamic institution.
  • Ability to work with a diverse mix of other individuals, programs, departments, and industry professionals.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal procedures and instructions.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to function effectively on a variety of committees and assignments that serve the needs of the University.
  • Skills in maintaining professional and ethical academic standards.
  • Skills in interpersonal interactions, problem solving, and decision-making.


Preferred Qualifications:
Two or more years teaching, instructing, or advising experience.
Evidence of use or potential for use of digital learning tools and mechanisms in online instruction


Physical Requirements:
Talking continuously, sitting and standing regularly, fine hand manipulation for use in computer systems.
