The North Willamette Research & Extension Center (NWREC) is seeking a Director. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Director.

The purpose of this position is to serve as Director of the North Willamette Research and Extension Center.

The Director serves at the pleasure of the Dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS).

Specific outcomes resulting from this position include:

Provide overall leadership and guidance for research and Extension programs at the NWREC, including supervision of faculty and staff, budget and fiscal planning and management, and farm and facilities operations.

Specific roles and duties of this position include the following.

Stakeholder Relationships:

Serve as CAS’s primary liaison with diverse local stakeholders providing high quality customer service with the local community.

As primary liaison, develop and oversee budget processes and monitor fiscal activities in collaboration the Executive Associate Dean and the Chief Operating Officer of CAS.

Build and maintain relationships with county, regional, state and federal elected and appointed officials and decision makers-including keeping them informed about OSU’s activities and impacts in their communities.

County/Region Needs Assessments:

Manage broadly representative advisory councils to help identify critical issues, community needs and opportunities, while providing oversight and support for OSU programming within their purview.

Work as a team member with appropriate Regional Extension Directors to prioritize and implement needs assessment findings for NWREC.

Community Outreach and Engagement:

Connect public to OSU resources, improving the University’s presence and outreach in the community.

Facilitate educational services and opportunities, including credit and non­credit, within the community.

Develop and expand partnerships with educational leaders and providers in the community.

Create opportunities for increased engagement between OSU and the community.

Envision an expansion plan for NWREC and develop a long-term vision of where the Station can go in the future.
