The Assistant Director will support the Office of International Programs (OIP) in its initiatives to maintain compliance with visa regulations, provide high-quality advisement and service to students, and support long-term strategies for recruitment and retention of international learners. This position will serve as the day-to-day operations manager of the office, as well as a Designated School Official (DSO) for F1 visa holders and an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for J1 visa holders to the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This position will support and interact with international students and scholars, as well as study abroad students.

Required Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate would have a Bachelor's degree, with 3-5 years of previous experience as a DSO and/or ARO, experience working in an international programs office, with contributions to international student recruitment strategies and related partnerships.
  • Experience with any of the following aspects of an international office: interacting with non-native English speakers and different cultures, advising international/exchange/study abroad students on I-20/DS-2019/study abroad application procedures, advising international/exchange students on visa-related, campus and cultural matters, advising study abroad students on navigating the study abroad process. Supporting these populations through events and outreach.
  • Strong office experience in a fast-paced environment. Foreign language ability and travel experience.
