Exceptional candidates with background in other areas will also be considered. Candidates for tenure-track positions must provide evidence of outstanding potential in research and teaching. The ideal candidate should have expertise in both component-level and system-level modeling applicable to embedded system design with emphasis on hardware, robotics, and aerospace applications. Additional expertise areas of interest include but are not limited to smart sensor design, hardware development, instrumentation, on-board computing, especially parallel computing, collaboration between multiple embedded systems, fluent in control and data platform software development, analog electronics, experience with troubleshooting and debugging prototype hardware/software, and electronic design (analog and digital), PCB design, and fabrication.

Sustainable and Resilient Electric Energy Systems: Special interest will be given to candidates with experience on the hybrid resilient energy systems, electric drives and motors, and energy storage. The selected candidate must also have a strong background in at least three of the following: hybrid energy systems, electric drives and machines, energy storage systems, design/construction of wind/wave technologies, power quality, control of electric drives and motors, energy harvesting using high-power-density devices, wireless energy transfer, ultra-capacitors and batteries, induction and synchronous motors, and nonlinear control of high-power-density devices for renewable energy and electric vehicle applications. The ideal candidate should have expertise in both component-level and system-level modeling and control applicable to energy systems with emphasis on electric drives and motors, hybrid electric vehicles, and the power grid. The ideal candidate will focus on technologies and approaches that enable increasing deployment of renewable energy sources, electric vehicles, energy storage technologies and the integration of these technologies.

If your native language is not Spanish, you should be able to communicate fluently in English and, by the end of your tenure-track appointment, be able to communicate effectively in Spanish.
