The Quinnipiac University School of Business is a dynamic student-centered educational community focused on preparing students for achievement and leadership in professional careers. The School enrolls 1,575 undergraduate and 600 graduate students and is accredited by the AACSB International, with initial accreditation awarded in 2000; the school’s Accounting programs recently earned separate AACSB accreditation. With 54 full-time faculty, the School offers thirteen undergraduate majors, five graduate degree programs, and three certificate programs, as well as 4+1 and 3+1 dual degree pathways to the MBA and MS specialized degree programs. In collaboration with Quinnipiac’s School of Law, the Business School also offers a JD/MBA. The 2020 rankings place Quinnipiac’s online MBA program 35th nation-wide and its Master of Science online graduate business program 26th nation-wide. The school has also been ranked in the best online graduate business programs for veterans and best online MBA program for veterans.

Reporting to the Provost, the Dean will demonstrate an uncompromising commitment to academic excellence, an unwavering ethical compass, and a deep commitment to interdisciplinary and interprofessional collaboration. They also should possess a record of their actions to promote diversity, inclusion and equity in prior positions and organizations. The dean will be an articulate and enthusiastic communicator who will develop and implement a strategic vision for the school’s future in consultation with the faculty, pursue clear strategic priorities, and raise and manage resources effectively to steadily advance those priorities.

Among the Dean’s core responsibilities will be advancing the school’s strategic plan; leading the recruitment, development and retention of a distinguished faculty; constantly improving the school’s teaching and research programs; wisely stewarding the school’s resources and undertaking creative fundraising to increase those resources; building strong relationships with the school’s alumni, friends, donors and Dean’s Advisory Council; collaborating with fellow QU Deans on interdisciplinary programs, joint faculty appointments, and new academic initiatives; and serving as a visible exemplar of engaged and positive university citizenship at the School of Business and across the Quinnipiac campus. The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in an appropriate field and be eligible for appointment at the rank of professor, or equivalent experience appropriate to the dean’s role and responsibilities.
