Academic Engagement and Global Initiatives ( AEGI ) invites applicants for temporary instructor positions (less than a semester) available for Spring 2021 and non-semester periods.

Primary responsibilities include teaching a selection of skills-based courses in online and distance ESL settings with university partner institutions in service to student recruitment, onboarding, and orientation prior to arrival on the Ball State University campus.

Minimum Qualifications

MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages ( TESOL ) or closely related field or, an MA in addition to an ESL certification, language teaching/education coursework, or language teaching experience.

A high level of English language proficiency.

At least two years of experience teaching at the college or university level.

Familiarity and experience with the type and focus of the instruction of this nature.

Authorization to work in the US

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages ( TESOL ), Second Language Acquisition ( SLA ) or closely related field by date of appointment.

Experience in curriculum revision and design.

Experience with project-based learning and teaching.

Computer competency.

Ability to work as part of a team.

Willingness to learn and adapt to departmental expectations.
