Job Title Assistant/Associate Professor of Psychology Rank Assistant/Associate Professor Classification Title Tenure Track Position Summary
New Mexico Highlands University is accepting applications for a nine month, tenure-track position in Clinical/Counseling Psychology beginning in August 2021.
—Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses in clinical psychology, research methods, statistics, positive psychology, career development, multicultural psychology, introductory psychology, and other assigned courses within the prescribed curriculum.
—This position will focus on development of NMHU’s online asynchronous undergraduate degree in order to advance and grow the Psychology program.
—This position will be based at the NMHU Farmington Center to serve the face to face needs of the Farmington area student population.
—This position will include research mentoring of Psychology graduate students who are based at the Las Vegas main campus.
—This position will include academic advising of main campus and center undergraduate and graduate students.
—This position will require development of a psychology research laboratory and an active research program.
—This position will include service to the university and department.

Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include teaching a normal load of 24 credit hours per academic year (may be assigned to teach evening and/or Saturday classes, courses via distance education/online); holding office hours as required; advising students on academic and vocational curricula; directing student research (including theses, independent study, etc.); participating as a departmental and program representative on standing and ad-hoc committees; developing a research laboratory and an active research program in psychology; all other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: (1) Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or related field ( ABD will be considered). Experience: (1) Evidence of teaching and research excellence/potential; (2) experience with Distance and Technology Education delivery systems.
Preferred Qualifications
(1) Experience with research, publications, and grant funding
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in in clinical psychology, research methods, statistics, positive psychology, career development, multicultural psychology, introductory psychology, and other assigned courses within the prescribed curriculum. Knowledge of distance and technology education delivery systems.
