About the Opportunity:
The Department of Philosophy and Religion and the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University seek to fill an assistant teaching professor position in the area of information ethics beginning in fall 2021.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to and experience in undergraduate teaching and will have expertise in areas of applied ethics and/or ethical theory with high relevance to emerging issues raised by robotics, big data, information systems, machine learning or other aspects of artificial intelligence. This is a joint position between the Department of Philosophy and Religion in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Khoury College of Computer Sciences, with the primary home in philosophy. The responsibilities for this position include: teaching courses in applied ethics (four courses per year); developing and delivering ethics modules within core courses of the Khoury computer science curriculum; and service and professional development. This is an untenured, but continuing and tracked position with the possibility of promotion to Associate and Full Teaching Professor, as well as multi-year (3 year and 5 year) contracts.

Qualifications:
A Ph.D. or its equivalent in philosophy is required by the appointment start date.
