The Department of Business Administration and Accounting at Hartwick College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor starting in August, 2021, pending final administrative approval. We seek candidates with expertise in Accounting & Finance, especially in the area of financial accounting, auditing, managerial accounting, financial management, and investment analysis. Minimum qualifications include either a Ph.D. in Accounting or a current CPA or CFA license coupled with a M.S. in Accounting or an MBA. Preference will be given to those with professional experience in accounting or finance in addition to advanced degrees and licensure.
Specific teaching assignments will include Financial and Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Auditing, Investment Analysis, and other Accounting and Finance courses to meet the needs of the department, and possibly general education courses, including First Year Seminars. Teaching load will average 20 semester credit hours or their equivalent per academic year, and all faculty members teach during the College’s distinctive four-week January Term.
Our department embraces entrepreneurship and promotes experiential and community-based learning in a small undergraduate liberal arts setting. The successful candidate must be committed to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching, active engagement in scholarly or creative activities, and working closely with students in a small college environment. Committee service and academic advising also are expected for tenure and promotion.

Located in the scenic Susquehanna River valley in Oneonta, NY, near the northern foothills of the Catskill Mountains, the College features a Liberal Arts education that prepares students with 21st century skills, embeds career development, and supports them with a personal Guidance Team.
