The Division of Extended Learning at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications for a term Summer & Winter Sessions Program Manager position. This is a full-time, 12-month position.

Description of Responsibilities: The Summer & Winter Sessions Program Manager is an important administrator for SUNY Oswego’s Division of Extended Learning located in Oswego, NY. The Summer & Winter Sessions Program Manager plans, schedules, promotes, coordinates and tracks the delivery of SUNY Oswego’s Summer & Winter Sessions courses in close consultation with department chairs, faculty, and other academic offices such as Experiential Learning and International Language & Education Center. As courses may be offered online or in person (at the main campus, at the Syracuse Campus, or offsite at any field location), this position collaborates with the Instructional Design team, Syracuse campus and faculty to confirm components of online and in person delivery. The Summer & Winter Sessions Program Manager also creates faculty contracts, authorizes payroll, and facilitates both pro-rated faculty pay revisions and the course cancellation process. The Summer & Winter Sessions Program Manager collaborates with the Registrar’s Office, Payroll, Student Accounts, Financial Aid, Campus Life, College Store and Facilities Department in order to ensure an efficient and successful delivery of Summer and Winter Sessions course offerings and accessible services are provided to students.
Responsibilities also include:
- spearheading the promotion of each session by working closely with the Communications and Marketing Department to create and launch campaigns via electronic, print and in person efforts for both internal and external recruitment
- working within a specific budget
- providing updated information for the website
- generating weekly enrollment, revenue, credit and expense reports
- calculating revenue share recommendations
- assessing and improving policies and procedures for Summer & Winter Sessions program management
The Summer & Winter Sessions Program Manager collaborates with faculty and staff campus-wide to communicate and improve operational efficiencies, remains current in the field and implements best practices in order to meet professional obligations, including service to campus committees and membership in work-related local, regional, and national organizations.
The Division of Extended Learning seeks to engage a wide array of diverse populations that include adult career changers and those with socio-economic, cultural and racially diverse backgrounds. The Summer & Winter Sessions Program Manager will create an inclusive atmosphere in order to engage underserved populations and provide them access to higher education, reflecting SUNY Oswego’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Education, Leadership, Public/Non Profit Administration, Business Administration, Strategic Communication, or related field by time of appointment
- Three years of related work experience in higher education, public education or corporate training
- Experience in reporting and assessment
- Commitment to the college’s values of diversity and inclusion of underserved populations
- Expertise in managing multiple projects and working with many stakeholders
- Demonstrated written, oral & interpersonal communication skills
- Organizational skills such as project and budget management
- Ability to travel and work evening and weekends as required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five years’ experience of related work experience in higher education
- Prior experience managing a Summer/Winter Sessions program
- Knowledge of principles of best practice related to Summer/Winter Sessions program management
- Demonstrated program management experience, including course scheduling, reporting / assessment and recruitment skills
- Knowledge of the principles of and demonstrated commitment to student success
- Evidence of a commitment to the college’s values of diversity and inclusion in the candidate’s career experience, professional development or community service (job roles, certification, volunteer work, etc.)
- Experience managing program logistics and operations
- Previous experience teaching or learning online via online courses, hybrid courses or blended programs
- Demonstrated experience actively troubleshooting challenges

Description of Department: The mission of the Division of Extended Learning is to expand access to the SUNY Oswego experience through the creation, delivery and support of innovative and responsive credit and non-credit programming for diverse audiences via multiple locations, modalities and services. We cultivate collaborative partnerships and provide superior customer service to ensure high quality, lifelong learning opportunities. The Division coordinates offering of a variety of credit and non-credit bearing courses and programs for both nontraditional and traditional students at the Oswego campus, Syracuse Branch Campus, Online, during Summer and Winter terms and at offsite locations. The Extended Learning Division’s portfolio includes online learning program management, instructional design, academic advising and concierge student services. The Division is the home to the SUNY Oswego in the High Schools and Oswego County New Vision programs where eligible high school students are able to concurrently enroll in SUNY Oswego courses for college credit. Extended Learning also is home to the International Language Education Center which coordinates the offering of Intensive English programs offered year round for academically prepared international students who lack sufficient English skills to fully matriculate into a program of study, as well as our successful 40+ year old summer program for students from around the world. The Division also offers English for Academic Purposes and U.S. Culture courses during traditional semesters for credit based students. Professional development programs are available by contract, on site, or online. The Division is proud to provide academic and support services to active duty military and veterans both online and face to face as a partner at the Jefferson Higher Education Center in Watertown and on main campus resulting in numerous Veteran Friendly designations. The Division also provides services such as Testing and Proctoring Services, International Student Services, Non-Traditional Student Services and Room Rental at our Syracuse branch campus.
