Job Description

The Assistant Vice Provost for Finance provides leadership for the finance operations of the Executive Vice President and Provost senior management area and its constituent organizations. Primary responsibilities of the position include managing the resource allocation systems and processes administered by the Provost Office, conducting financial analyses in support of various academic initiatives, and providing financial oversight for the fiscal operations of the Provost's area departments.

Required Qualifications

A master's degree, preferably in a related field such as public administration, business administration or education administration. Advanced spreadsheet skills, including ability to manipulate multiple large and complex data sets simultaneously; and ability to analyze, summarize and present financial and narrative information clearly. Evidence of strong interpersonal skills and effective writing and communication skills. Significant, successful experience in a financial management related position in a higher education setting.

Preferred Qualifications

The successful candidate should be detail oriented but with an ability to understand the university environment and contribute broadly to a variety of university goals and projects.

Knowledge of Virginia Tech financial and academic policies and procedures and their related enterprise systems.
