Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin, Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care seeks a candidate to serve as a Research Specialist for Dr. Narjust Duma. This individual will assist Dr. Duma in expanding and managing the research team in gender and health equity in medicine and medical education. The Research Specialist will have direct involvement in project conception and execution.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Required Experience:
1 year+ of prior research experience.
Understanding of research confidentiality/privacy issues. Ability to read, understand and follow a research protocol.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook

Preferred Experience:
-Prior experience in healthcare or public health fields.
-Prior experience with conducting research
-Prior experience with IRB protocol development and submission.
-Prior experience preparing project reports, scientific manuscripts, and/or grant proposals.
-Skills in spreadsheet construction and analyses.
-Skills in database management.

Additional Information:

Position to last 1 year. There is a possibility it may be extended or made renewable if there is a need for an ongoing appointment and/or funding becomes available.

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial Caregiver Check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and then every four years.
