Job Description:

KCU is seeking an experienced full-time graphic designer as an integral member of the University Relations team. The graphic designer will develop outstanding visual communications that will convey the University’s brand and mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports internal and external communications, including: print, digital and video; social media assets; email communications; advertising materials and more by creating engaging visual communications.
  • Appropriately convey the University’s brand identity in all materials and consistently meet all brand and style standards with a holistic understanding.
  • Report to the Manager of Creative Services and follow creative direction and ensure that the appropriate review and approval process is followed for all University publications.
  • Collaborate with the University Relations team to identify solutions through creative marketing strategies and initiatives.
  • Maintain an accurate and current library of digital assets, project archives (including both working files and finished materials) and other resources.
  • Partner with KCU colleagues and students to ensure high-quality visual content that meets the communication needs of all stakeholders through collaborative consultations.
  • Serve as a University photographer and videographer, producing effective and engaging visual communications with the resulting photographs and footage.
  • Assist in signature events throughout the year through both creative support and general event-support as needed.
  • Engage with external vendors, agencies, contract workers and media when necessary.


Qualifications:

  • A solid creative portfolio consisting of a wide range of projects and design styles.
  • 3-5 years of experience in graphic design. Ideal candidate will also have a working knowledge of video production, photography and dynamic digital design.
  • Degree in graphic design or related field preferred.
  • Must have exceptional visual communications skills, including: a strong understanding of typography, layout and hierarchy; working understanding of print and digital production processes; copywriting and copyediting; and UX-centered approaches.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of design software, including Adobe products.
  • Excellent time management skills, able to think/act quickly in a deadline-driven environment and highly-responsive to changing priorities.
  • Resourceful, can-do attitude that thrives in a fast paced team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and experience with client relationships.
