Job Description Summary

The individual selected will teach two to three courses per semester to full-time undergraduate students and will also be expected to engage in scholarly activity. Extramural funding for research is not a contractual requirement. This position offers significant faculty development opportunities through internal and external grant funding opportunities and Auburn’s Biggio Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning. In addition to teaching and research, the successful candidate will also demonstrate a commitment to academic program development, and service within the University, the profession, and community. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must possess a doctoral degree in health administration, public health, or a closely related discipline at the time of appointment, and present a strong indication of future research productivity in appropriate academic journals.

Desired Qualifications

The program seeks someone with teaching and scholarly interests that complement those of the current faculty. Successful candidates will have a broad knowledge of healthcare management, and should have the ability to teach across the undergraduate health services administration curriculum (e.g. U.S. healthcare delivery system, management, health information technology, post-acute care, policy, etc.) as needed. Areas of particular need for expertise/course coverage include healthcare financial management, health insurance/reimbursement, and health policy. Relevant field experience is desired, but not required.
