The Department of Surgery is seeking a Research Assistant to support and collaborate with research coordinators on a clinical research study.

Responsibilities for this position will include:

- Preparing and maintaining study binders
- Filing regulatory documents and lab results
- Scheduling patient visits
- Making reminder calls to subjects
- Prepping lab kits for study visits
- Other duties as assigned by the PI, coordinators, or other research team members
- Data Entry
- Transporting documents/specimens periodically
- Helping patients complete questionnaires

Required Qualifications

Knowledge of relevant computer software programs including Windows operating systems, Microsoft office, Google, Electronic Data Capture and Scheduling Systems; Record of excellent customer service and communication skills; Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines under the direction and supervision of the PI and research team; Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse environment or commitment to do so as an employee at VCU .

Preferred Qualifications

Experience as an administrative assistant, research assistant or receptionist; Knowledge of research processes, communication and problem-solving strategies
