8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday-Friday, some evenings and weekends required



Job Summary:

The Scholarship Budget and Compliance Coordinator will be responsible for monitoring scholarship budgets for all institutional, endowed, and JSU Foundation scholarships, which will include setting scholarship budgets within our scholarship management software, providing expenditure and balance reports, and reviewing any requests for new scholarship funds. This position will work closely with the Controller’s Office to ensure accurate financial reporting for scholarships. The Scholarship Budget and Compliance Coordinator will also provide reports to the Deans and Vice Presidents regarding the scholarship spending for their area and work with the JSU Foundation to ensure accurate scholarship balances are input in our scholarship management software. This position will also develop and maintain policies and procedures for scholarship awarding and will be a liaison between the Financial Aid Office and the JSU Foundation.



Essential Functions:

  • Review scholarship accounts in Banner Finance to ensure scholarships are routed to the appropriate department.
  • Input and maintain scholarship budget amounts in JSU’s scholarship management software for institutional, endowed, and JSU Foundation scholarships.
  • Work with the Assistant Director of Scholarships and Controller’s Office on the creation of new scholarship funds to ensure appropriate fund routing.
  • Collaborate with departments across campus to ensure strategic awarding of scholarship funds.
  • Provide monthly scholarship balance reports to Deans and Vice Presidents.
  • Provide monthly merit scholarship expenditure reports to Vice President of Enrollment Management.
  • Develop policies and procedures for scholarship awarding.
  • Work in collaboration with the JSU Foundation and University Advancement for annual awarding of endowed scholarships.
  • Work with the Financial Aid Assistant Director of Technical Operations to conduct annual review of scholarship requirements to ensure proper awarding.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid or Assistant Director of Scholarships.


Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • experience in budgeting or finance
