Job Title: Proposal Developer
Position Description:
North Carolina State
University Office of Research & Innovation – Proposal
Development Unit welcomes applications for the position of a
Proposal Developer. At the Proposal Development Unit (PDU),
each project is assigned to a Proposal Developer who facilitates
the proposal development process for the PI and project team
members. This position facilitates and manages the proposal
development process from the conceptualization stage to submission,
writes non-technical sections of proposals, develops budgets and
budget justifications by working closely with faculty, college
research offices of NC State and partners, edits and formats
sections of proposals for content, form and style (including
consistency, grammar, punctuation, and citation format), and
ensures adherence to RFP requirements and the particular
agency’s proposal guide, and uniformity of style and voice. This
position also performs final form and content checks of ancillary
documents gathered and formatted by PDU support
personnel, and edits and corrects them as needed. In addition, the
position will also be responsible for developing and delivering
seminars, workshops, and guidance materials to train faculty in
grant writing.
This is a full-time salaried position with benefits and room for advancement. In this role, we are looking for detail-oriented Proposal Developer, with strong communication and project management skills, excellent writing, editing, and proof-reading skills, thorough knowledge of federal sponsors, the ability to meet multiple strict deadlines, and the ability to work in team-based environment to achieve common goals.
Qualifications & Skills:
The
successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and
skills:
- A post-baccalaureate credentials or a bachelor’s degree plus alternative or equivalent professional training and experience may be substituted for the advanced degree on an exceptional basis.
- Five years’ experience in preparing federal grant proposals.
