The
University of Southern Indiana, Teacher Education Department
invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in
Education. This is a 9-month, tenure-track position to begin August
2021.
Minimum
qualifications include: 1) doctoral degree in Literacy/Reading
Education or closely related field; ABD considered with
degree final before employment start date. 2) a minimum of 3-years,
full time teaching experience at the elementary level (grades
K-6).
Responsibilities include: Teaching undergraduate courses in
literacy and reading designed for elementary education majors;
advising undergraduate students; engaging in service-related
activities including participation in departmental, college, and
university meetings and committees and professional organizations;
and, initiating and collaborating in research and grant activities
leading to scholarly presentations and publications. Opportunities
to teach in the Master of Science in Education Degree program and
Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership program are
possible.
