Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education

 

The Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education at Kennesaw State University invites applications for a 9-month tenure track Assistant Professor of Integrated Health Science position starting August 2021.

 

The Department seeks a faculty member who can support the new undergraduate program in Integrated Health Science. Responsibilities include:

 

  1. Developing and teaching health science courses.
  2. Mentoring students’ curricular, field -based learning, and research activities.
  3. Developing and maintaining an active scholarly agenda with the potential to secure external funding.
  4. Demonstrating an ability to foster collaborative relationships across disciplines, with the community at-large, and within the health profession.
  5. Performing institutional and professional service tasks necessary to enhance program, departmental, college, and university goals.

 

The successful candidate must have an earned doctorate or its foreign equivalent in health science, health service management, public health, or other closely related field. Candidates must have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication and teaching skills; a record of successful scholarship through publications, presentations, and grant writing; and experience collaborating and serving the discipline through professional service.

 

The successful candidate should have: 1) Successful teaching experience at the college level, especially teaching coursework applied health science, behavioral health, health services management, and interprofessional education; 2) Current or recent experience in the healthcare system; 3) Experience cultivating partnerships for internships and experiential learning; 4) Familiarity with experiential teaching methods in all types of course modalities; 5) Evidence of strong commitment to student success; 6) Capability to obtain external funding; and 7) Experience with students learning outcomes assessment.
