Position Summary
Teaching: Recruit, teach and retain an outstanding group of undergraduate and graduate oboe students. Supervise graduate degree requirements, including supervision of dissertation documents. Research/creative activities: Develop and maintain a national profile as a performer (solo, chamber and/or orchestral) and pedagogue; advance new repertoire for the oboe through commissioning activities, recordings, and/or premiere performances. Service: Participate fully in academic and professional activities, including service both on and off campus. Other duties as assigned may include, but are not limited to, coaching chamber music and teaching oboe literature classes.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in oboe performance required. Demonstrated excellence as an oboe teacher and an active profile as an artist-level performer. Demonstrated success in teaching at the college level with the potential to recruit effectively. High standards of professional ethics and collegiality required.

Preferred Qualifications
Earned doctorate in oboe performance preferred. Extensive experience as a soloist, chamber musician, and/or orchestral musician strongly preferred. Proven record of attracting, developing, and retaining outstanding students.
