Senior Communications and Corporate Affairs Associate



Job Purpose

Assists creation and execution of strategic social media campaigns and digital marketing efforts to support assigned goals. Supports department leaders in conjunction with the Office of Communications and Community Outreach to accomplish goals and objectives to further the department and other clinical marketing initiatives.

Job Duties
  • Supports the marketing team with market research and online analytics specific to consumer, physician and other audiences for clinical marketing initiatives as directed. The Department of Medicine has a 200 million dollar budget and over 2200 faculty and staff, paid and non-paid.
  • Develops online and digital strategy to help each Division within Medicine to grow their business, to meet objectives set by the marketing team for clinical marketing initiatives as needed.
  • Develops and implements strategic plan for internal communications across the department.
  • Creates, edits and publishes internal newsletters, presentations, and other vehicles for disseminating information to faculty and staff across geographically dispersed department.
  • Provides Department leadership with support in medical writing/editing as needed.
  • Coordinates with the College Office of Communications and Community Outreach to ensure consistent branding and key messaging in all Departmental communications.
  • Manages all website related projects for the Department, working with leadership to transform goals and materials into concisely written, attractively designed web pages.
  • Edits material submitted by Section content providers.
  • Collaborates with BCM Public Affairs and Communications to develop and implement effective strategies for communicating through the department website.
  • Works with BCM’s web development team to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve website-related issues.
  • Continually reviews web content for appropriateness and conformance to standards for information architecture, editorial style, and visual design.
  • Initiates and schedules regular meetings with internal stakeholders to coordinate updates to the website.
  • Coordinates and supervises website related photo shoots.
  • Assists in identifying gaps and challenges for clinical marketing initiatives as needed.
  • Manages the digital strategy and tactics agreed upon by Marketing, the department/center, and the Office of Communications for clinical marketing initiatives as requested.
  • Implements and manages departmental content in line with the College’s web standards, processes and policies for clinical marketing initiatives as needed.
  • Responsible for day-to-day management of the department/center social media accounts, with guidance from the Office of Communications and Community Outreach.
  • Acts as the primary liaison between department and the Office of Communications and Community Outreach in digital marketing matters.
  • Provides departmental/center reports to leadership as needed.
  • Oversight of internal and external College websites.
  • Develops and implements of policies and procedures related to digital media and communications.
  • Performs social media and blog network writing/management.
  • Develops content (writes, edit, repurpose, integrate) for company websites.
  • May supervise others


Minimum Qualifications
  • Education Required: Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience Required: Four years of relevant experience.

  • Degree in Marketing/Branding, Communications, Digital Media
