Job Summary

The Department of Electrical, Computer & Energy Engineering (ECEE) encourages applications for a Research Associate ! This position will work with Professors Juliet Gopinath and Victor Bright, starting Spring or Summer 2021. The project will focus on adaptive optical devices for switching, biomedical imaging, wavefront correction, and laser ranging and sensing. The research will include a combination of fundamental scientific experiments and theory. There will be opportunities to write grant proposals and mentor students. Who We Are

Professors Victor Bright and Juliet Gopinath have been collaborating on adaptive optics research for well over a decade. Their research has applications in atomic physics, LIDAR, lasers, and linear and multiphoton microscopy. They manage a joint group that includes graduate, undergraduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and research scientists. Professor Juliet Gopinath has over 20 years of experience in photonics and has a broad range of interests from ultrafast and nonlinear optics, to coordinated optics, and adaptive optics. Her laboratory pursues a combination of modeling and experiments. Professor Victor Bright is a specialist in micro-electrical mechanical systems (MEMS).

Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering at CU Boulder is the premier undergraduate and graduate program in Colorado by reputation, rankings, and size. What We Require

Ph.D., a strong background in microfabrication, optics, and lasers through experimental research and academic courses.
