Job Summary

JCCC is searching to fill our vacant Assistant Professor, Hospitality Management position. This position will teach the equivalent of 12-15 credit hours per semester in the Hospitality Management area, with an emphasis in food and beverage management and hotel and lodging classes. This position will also perform other duties expected of full-time faculty including maintaining scheduled office hours; developing and implementing course and program assessment of student learning outcomes; developing and maintaining relationships with industry and academic partners; participating in college, division, and department meetings; serving on committees; recruiting students; and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Management or related field
ServSafe Certified in Foodservice Sanitation and/or ServSafe Alcohol
Minimum of five years industry experience with specialty in food and beverage management, physical property management
Demonstrated classroom teaching experience that incorporates development of critical thinking and decision making skills
Demonstrated leadership experience
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrated strong organizational and planning skills
Ability to teach using different delivery modes (face to face and online)

Preferred Qualifications

A sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, and abilities backgrounds of community college students
Master's or Doctorate degree in Hospitality Management, or related field
Hospitality industry certification such as ACF, NRA, CHRIE, etc.
ServSafe Certified Instructor/Proctor in Foodservice Sanitation and/or ServSafe Alcohol
Supervisory responsibilities in a hospitality enterprise
Postsecondary teaching experience
Familiarity with current Point of Sale and computer-based accounting systems
