Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Director will perform all duties associated with the Cybersecurity Institute, particularly the management and leadership. The Program Director is responsible for the administration and coordination of the Cybersecurity program in compliance with the college regulations and accrediting agency policies and procedures. The Program Director provides leadership and direction for the faculty, staff, and the students. The Director will develop curriculum and ensure quality of instructional and training programs related to Cybersecurity Institute and serve as liaison between college and industry related organizations.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise Cybersecurity Institute instructional operations to include credit and non credit.
- Develop, evaluate, and revise programs, courses, and objectives to ensure instructional and programmatic responsiveness to the occupational and academic needs of students and to ensure instructional quality as demonstrated by students' achievement of competency-based objectives.
- Prepare and, on the first day of class, distribute syllabi, which inform students about course requirements, grading requirements, testing assignments, absence policy, and other pertinent information for each course assigned.
- Prepare, administer, and grade assignments and examinations in a timely manner to inform students about their progress and to provide opportunities, which will allow students to succeed. Use multiple measures of assessment. Include opportunities for research and outside assignments.
- Encourage use of support services by students. Collaborate with support services staff to ensure that appropriate information is shared and discussed.
- Provide appropriate information to Library staff regarding desired discipline materials.
- Follow the academic calendar and other policies and procedures adopted by the Board of Trustees.
- Serve as peer mentor when requested.
- Stay current of changes that occur in discipline. Participate in department initiatives to infuse changes into curriculum. Participate in interdisciplinary discussions, which are directed at improving student learning and evaluating core competencies curriculum.
- Sponsor or provide assistance with student clubs and organizations.
- Distribute student evaluation forms on a timely basis.
- Provide a safe environment for students and be responsible for the security of assigned equipment, materials, and classrooms.
- Promote the College's programs and curricula, in particular ensuring delivery of diverse modes of instruction to include online and hybrid courses.
- Follow procedures related to the registration Office, including grade reports and deadlines; attendance record reports; withdrawal deadlines; class changes; and time and room scheduling.
- Participate in the preparation and updating of class schedules and the Catalog.
- Follow proper procedures for requesting textbooks, instructional supplies, and expendable supplies; submit travel and absence reports on a timely basis.
- Participate in career days for elementary and secondary school students; participate in civic activities for communicating services provided by the College.
- Participate in Southern Association accreditation activities; implement Institutional Effectiveness Plan related to academic area.
- Participate in college and departmental committees and activities. Substitute for colleagues as appropriate.
- Prepare professional development plan in consultation with the department chair; review plan on an on-going basis with the department chair; work with assigned peer/mentor.
- Participate in faculty evaluations as described by the department chair and/or the Dean of Work force Education.
- Participate in meetings called by the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dean of Workforce Education, or department chair for the purpose of disseminating information, providing input into the decision-making process, and sharing expertise with colleagues.
- Manages budget requests and monitors expenditures for both Perkins and Institutional funding streams as they pertain to the Cybersecurity Institute.
- Participate as a faculty advisory during the registration process and during the semester by providing accurate career counseling and guidance at time assigned by the department chair or Senior Director of Work force Education & South Campus. Use the Program Degree Guide on an on-going basis to maintain current information about each student.
- Respond to requests for information from the Dean of Workforce Education.
- Participate in college activities, which include but are not limited to orientation, convocation, in-service, graduation, and workshops designed for growth and development.

- Master’s degree in Cyber Operations, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related field.
- Certified Penetration Tester (GPEN) or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of specialized experience in :
- Security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, applied cryptography, and application security.
- Network and web-related protocol knowledge (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols.
- Ph.D./D.Sc. in Cyber Operations, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related field.
- 6-10 years of experience in a technical, professional role for an enterprise, with a minimum of 3 years in a cybersecurity vulnerability/penetration tester position.
- Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Security-related Python scripting/programming and analysis
- Python-based machine learning/artificial intelligence experience
- C programming language
- Source and binary code testing and analysis

Dean of Workforce Education, Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
