Staff Associate III (Officer of Research) - Global Energy Innovation Initiative

Center on Global Energy Policy
The Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs seeks a Staff Associate III (Officer of Research) for a major research initiative on clean energy innovation and low-carbon industrial systems. The topics of this initiative will include global collaboration on clean energy technology research, development, and demonstration; US public policies to promote the scale-up of clean energy technologies; and deep dives on low-carbon fuels and processes, zero-C hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, and CO2 use/recycling. Successful execution will require supporting original research, working with research partners and communicating research findings clearly and concisely to a range of audiences in a manner that maximizes policy impact, as well as contributing to the Center’s wider research and convening efforts. The position will engage at a high level with key stakeholders; a high level of verbal and written communications, and cultural awareness, skills are required. The position will report to Senior Research Scholars Dr. Varun Sivaram and Dr. Julio Friedmann.
Qualifications include a Master’s degree in relevant field (science, engineering, public policy, economics, international affairs, political science, etc.), strong communication and project management skills, and experience in machine learning and Python (or equivalent).
