The Department of Finance and Economics in the AACSB-accredited Gary W. Rollins College of Business at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) invites applications for a non-tenure track Lecturer in Finance position to begin August 1, 2021. This appointment is renewable each year given satisfactory performance and budget.

Applicants must minimally have a Master's degree (e.g. MBA or MS Finance) with appropriate coursework in Finance and work experience, or have a Ph.D. or DBA in Finance (or closely-related field) or be in the ABD stage of their doctoral studies. Professional designations such as CFA or CFP are preferred.

Strong candidates will have compelling evidence of teaching effectiveness and/or relevant work experience, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Applicants must be able to provide instruction in a variety of modalities, including online. The main teaching responsibilities will be in the areas of Corporate Finance, International Finance and Real Estate Finance, and in working with Student Managed Funds. Candidates should be qualified to teach other Finance courses, if the need arises. The teaching load is four classes per semester. In addition to teaching, the selected candidate is required to actively participate in professional activities sufficient to maintain appropriate qualifications under AACSB standards.

The Gary W. Rollins College of Business at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga recently received the largest philanthropic gift in the history of UTC from Gary W. Rollins and Kathleen Rollins of Atlanta. The $40 million gift established the Gary W. Rollins College of Business as the first named college at UTC. The Rollins College of Business is AACSB accredited at the undergraduate and graduate levels, serves approximately 2100 students, and has a collegial faculty. The Finance program in the Rollins College is the program of choice for students throughout the southern Tennessee and north Georgia regions. We strive for our students to be Academically Prepared and Business World Ready. This high-quality, competitive program offers students many unique benefits: a state-of-the-art Finance Lab with 10 Bloomberg terminals, integrated classroom and technology-based experiential learning and internships, a Student Success Center with dedicated career advisors, business-world inspired curriculum design, industry speakers and field trips, including an annual trip to Wall Street. Students manage over $1.4 million through the SMILE Fund and two other portfolios. The Finance program is part of the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program.

Review of applicants will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Preference will be given to qualified candidates who apply by January 17, 2021. Interviews will be scheduled in February via Zoom.
