Valencia College

Valencia College is a member of the Florida College System, a network of 28 state colleges under the purview of the Florida Department of Education, and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

Valencia is one of the largest community colleges in Florida and the inaugural winner of the Aspen Prize for Community Colleges. The College offers more than 120 programs including two- and four-year degrees, accelerated training and continuing education.

This past year, Valencia achieved Gold Status under Florida’s Performance-based Funding program and was awarded the highest level of funding. Its unique DirectConnectTM partnership provides graduates with an A.A. or an articulated A.S. degree from Valencia guaranteed admission to UCF. In addition, Valencia, the School District of Osceola County and the Education Foundation of Osceola County have led the way in creating “Got College?” This effort is designed to raise Osceola County’s historically low college-going rate. The results have been impressive. For its leadership in this important initiative, Valencia earned a “Chancellor’s Best Practice Award” from the Florida College System.

Recognized as one of “The Great Colleges to Work For” by the Chronicle of Higher Education, at Valencia we understand the importance of fostering a collaborative environment that fosters collaboration and creativity and achieving a true work/life balance.

Valencia has been named by HBCU Connect as one of its top 50 employers for recruitment efforts targeting students and graduates from our nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Serving the greater metro Orlando area, Valencia’s campuses are located near Walt Disney World and the tourist corridor, in which many residents work.  The College’s program offerings seek both to support the tourism industry as well as diversify employment opportunities in the region and enable economic mobility.

Valencia College Foundation

The Valencia College Foundation seeks to provide the margin of excellence for which Valencia has long been known. The Foundation is a separate, not-for-profit, IRS approved 501(c) (3) corporation chartered in 1974 to provide financially for the educational needs of Valencia that cannot be met through state aid or student tuition income.

Working here you will have the opportunity to ensure that equal access to higher education belongs to everyone, because the future does, too. The Foundation maintains more than 650 named scholarships, academic support funds, endowed teaching chairs and fellowships.

During the 2019-20, Valencia College Foundation disbursed $8 million, including $2.6 million in scholarships. In 2011, the Valencia Foundation received the prestigious Circle of Excellence National Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

Valencia Foundation has been named one of the nation’s top two community college endowments every year for 17 years and maintains more than $100 million in net assets. CASE selected Valencia as a top-performing foundation and named it to its unsolicited Circle of Excellence in Educational Fundraising.

The Valencia College Foundation is committed to providing even greater opportunity to students through the $30 million, multi-year Valencia Promise Campaign, raising funds to support 14 priorities under four pillars of promise:

  • Made education affordable and accessible by breaking down barriers;
  • Grow our community's economy by enhancing and expanding signature programs;
  • Lead individuals into high-wage jobs by training them for high-demand careers; and
  • Innovate learning by fostering collaboration and experimentation.
