  • Teach 15 credits per semester: general education British literature, world literature, and core writing classes on-campus and/or online and upper-division literature classes on-campus and/or online each semester in Medieval and Early Modern British Literature, with abilities in one or more of the following areas: race, globality, gender, class, sexuality, environmental studies, and other emergent subfields. A portion of the semester credits may possibly be reassigned for writing-intensive instruction or exceptional service contributions.
  • Provide an on-campus presence to meet with and to serve students and to work with colleagues in the department and across campus.
  • The instructor is expected to provide an effective teaching environment that is conducive to student-centered learning in a manner that is consistent with the mission of the University. The coursework should contain an array of instructional materials that recognizes and enhances components of student-centered learning. The course material should also demonstrate a respect for and sensitivity toward the variety of diversities represented in our student population. In addition, the instructor is expected to evaluate student performance and learning, provide regular and timely evaluation feedback, assign grades consistent with course requirements, and assist the program in assessing student learning outcomes and program learning outcomes.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • M.A. in either English or Comparative Literature from an accredited institution
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with people from different cultural backgrounds, including those associated with race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, socioeconomic status, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, and other aspects of human diversity

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Ph.D. in either English or Comparative Literature from an accredited institution
  • University-level on-campus and/or online teaching experience
