Community College of Philadelphia is seeking to fill a Coordinator, Faculty Professional Development position. Reporting to the Associate Director, Title III Grant, the Coordinator, Faculty Professional Development provides coordination and support for faculty professional development opportunities under a Title III grant (titled Transforming the Student Experience: Enhancing Teaching and Learning and Holistic Student Supports) to increase their effectiveness in engaging and supporting students and improving instructional practices. The Coordinator assists the Associate Director in the development and implementation of innovative and relevant professional development programs and resources to support faculty in helping our students achieve their educational goals and closing the achievement gap of underserved students.

This is a grant-funded position. Continued employment in this position is based upon the continuation of grant funding.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree required. Any and all degree(s) must be from a recognized institutional accreditor.

• Experience teaching at a postsecondary institution with a diverse student population required.

• A minimum of two years of experience designing and delivering professional development required.

• Experience using a Learning Management System (such as Canvas) and instructional technology required.

• Experience using early alert/communication/referrals software (such as Starfish) required.

• Understanding of the impact of pedagogical practices on student learning required.

• Ability to plan and facilitate events, workshops, and trainings is required.

• Demonstrated knowledge about Guided Pathways required.

• Understanding of issues affecting equity in higher education required.

• Demonstratable knowledge of AAC&U's high-impact practices required.

• Ability to work with diverse constituencies and contribute to a team-based environment required.

• Commitment to supporting an inclusive environment on campus required. Evidence of respect for and understanding of people with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs required.

• Commitment to a student success agenda required.

• Strong leadership and management skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate purposefully and effectively with faculty, staff, students and other constituencies in positive and inclusive ways required.

• Ability to meet goals for contract compliance required.

• Demonstrated successful experiences working with diverse groups and individuals to support inclusion required.

• Knowledge of practices related to strength-based teaching, such as empathy, implicit bias in the classroom is required.

• Demonstrated excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, both verbal and written, required.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, both as team leader and participant, required.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities required.


Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required including Word and Excel preferred.
