Additionally, the position includes performing as collaborative partner with faculty, guest artists and students, and coaching collaborative projects involving piano students and their assigned partners. In the fall semester 2016, the Jacobs School of Music created a new Chamber and Collaborative Music Department, in which the post-doctoral position now resides. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of the activities in the new department. The search and screen committee may recommend the hiring of two candidates under this posting.

Qualifications: A completed doctorate in collaborative piano, or equivalent training in an academic institution outside the United States, is required at the time of appointment.  Consideration will be given to applicants with a doctoral degree in piano performance if they have extensive collaborative experience.  Candidates must have completed their training or have received the doctorate from an institution other than Indiana University preferably by May 31, 2021, but no later than  August 1, 2021, and no earlier than five years prior to their appointment.  The successful candidate will demonstrate evidence of artistic accomplishment and technical keyboard skills, fluency in sight-reading, ability to coach pianists in collaborative settings, a lively intellectual and musical curiosity and good organizational skills.

Salary and Rank: Visiting Assistant Professor.  Salary will be $42,700 with an annual $2000 research and travel budget.  The position carries eligibility for the health and retirement benefits available to all Indiana University full-time faculty.

Application: Indiana University is an equal employment and affirmative action employer and a provider of ADA services.
