ROGER WILLIAMS UNIVERSITY
THE SEARCH FOR THE DEAN, SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING, COMPUTING AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT

Roger Williams University (RWU) invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for the position of Dean of the School of Engineering, Computing and Construction Management (SECCM). Under the direction of the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean of SECCM serves as the chief administrator of the academic unit and as spokesperson and primary advocate for the School. The Dean exercises managerial decision-making authority relative to all operational and administrative functions of the School. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with a dedicated and accomplished faculty and a highly committed and creative new provost in shaping an innovative vision for SECCM, to help strengthen both undergraduate and graduate education, and to build on success in teaching, external relations, research and scholarship. The new Dean is expected to assume office in summer 2021.

Located on the coast in Bristol, RI, Roger Williams University is a forward-thinking comprehensive private university with 50 undergraduate majors and more than a dozen graduate programs spanning the liberal arts and the professions, where students become community-minded citizens through project-based, experiential learning. With small classes, direct access to faculty, and boundless opportunities for real-world projects, RWU students develop the ability to think critically while simultaneously building the practical skills that today's employers demand. RWU is also home to a thriving University College based in Providence as well as Rhode Island's only law school, a leader in public-interest law.

Reporting to Provost Margaret Everett, the Dean is the chief academic officer of the School of Engineering, Computing and Construction Management. The Dean's major areas of responsibilities include defining, in collaboration with the RWU President and Provost, a strategic vision for the School and coordinating with relevant stakeholders to support program assessment, curriculum refinement and advancement, faculty development and evaluation, student advisement, student co-curricular activities, and student retention. The SECCM Dean is also the leader for the School in outreach involving the professional communities that are relevant to the School's academic offerings, developing research opportunities for students and faculty and managing multiple resources.
