The Department of Music at Elmhurst University is seeking a full-time tenure track faculty member as Director of Music Business. This is an Assistant/Associate Professor position with a start date of August, 2021.

Administer/Coordinate all aspects of the B.M. and B.S. Music Business degree programs. This includes course and curriculum development, maintaining and increasing relationships within the music industry, budget management, public and professional service engagements, and serving as faculty sponsor to Music Business Students Union.Teaching responsibilities may include Music Business courses, Digital Music, related courses in Music Business determined and developed based upon experience of the successful candidate and needs of the Department.Recruit students to the Music Department, and serve as a liaison to high school music programs, and music industry businesses.Work closely with Music Business students, and the Weigand Center for Professional Excellence, in locating, coordinating, supervising, and visiting internship sites as senior capstone degree requirement.Perform academic advising to music business students.

Perform additional duties as assigned and required as a member of the Music Department faculty.

Minimum Master’s Degree in Music with at least one degree in Music Business.Prior teaching experience at the high school and/or college level, strong interpersonal skills, evidence of significant professional and scholarly experience, and ability to attract and retain students.Working knowledge of digital audio and notation programs required
