Pittsburgh Theological Seminary

President

Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (PTS) invites nominations and applications for the position of President.

PTS, affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA), is a Christ-centered, ecumenically minded educational community that is academically excellent, financially stable, and well-respected. PTS is located in Pittsburgh’s vibrant East Liberty neighborhood. While rich in tradition, the Seminary has embraced a commitment to mission-driven growth and change designed to ensure the formation of individuals for theologically reflective ministry and scholarship in service to the church, the public square, and the world.

The next President will be an ordained minister or a theologically trained member of a Christian denomination that recognizes PTS graduates as having fulfilled educational requirements for ordination. The President will have an understanding of the challenges facing theological education and have experience as a proven and collaborative senior administrative leader in theological education, higher education, or other non-profit organization. A terminal degree is preferred. As a skilled communicator with the ability to build trust relationships, the next leader will also inspire the PTS community around a unifying vision and be highly relational, spiritually mature, and a model of servant leadership. An entrepreneurial spirit, uncompromising work ethic, and the emotional intelligence to engage others with humility, cultural competence, transparency, and diplomacy will also be gifts of the next President.
