Position Summary:

Principal function is to provide instructional support to the faculty with the implementation of the Wildlife Medicine Clinical rotation, didactic courses and hands-on laboratories, as well as provision of administrative support of the UW Wildlife Rehabilitation Medicine program, which is part of the Zoological Medicine group in the Department of Surgical Sciences and Medical Sciences within the School of Veterinary Medicine.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree preferred. Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) is required for animal handling.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Preferably more than 3 years of experience for each of the following: Handling and veterinary care for native wildlife species, exotic pets or zoo animal species. Experience in assisting and leading instruction of veterinary students.

License or Certificate:

A valid driver's license is a requirement of this position

Additional Information:

This position requires independent decision-making skills, advanced organizational ability, and the ability to multitask. The qualified candidate must be able to manage inventory, place orders and perform quality control for our equipment, spaces and materials/supplies.

This position requires the ability and willingness to fully collaborate with and interact as part of a team within and outside of the UW Wildlife Medicine Program. The position demands excellent communication skills and a strong determination to improve not only their professional skills, but also the overall impact of the UW Wildlife Medicine program.
