P CC is se eking a telephone service professional with VoIP Application administration and telephone systems administration experience.

The position requires an individual with an overall knowledge of IT voice and data network principles, and experience managing VoIP telephony systems. The recruit will be part of a team responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and support for PCC’s Genesys VoIP telephone system, and related supporting hardware and systems. This includes the monitoring and management of call centers, voice system application administration and maintenance, management and installation of analog gateways, and Moves Adds and Changes for customer handsets, accounts, and voice mail boxes. This position will work with team members to design, implement, and maintain the telephone and call center configurations needed for PCC systems, as well as train other personnel on the administration, agent, and supervisor tools and how to best use them, and coordinate with other IT technicians and support teams on troubleshooting phone service failures and issues.

Candidate Profile

These qualifications, skills and abilities are critical for success in this position.

  • Demonstrable ability to analyze, define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Implementation/administration knowledge of VoIP applications such as Genesys, Asterisk, and ShoreTel
  • An understanding of local and wide area networks, servers and systems. This should include, but should not be limited to, Microsoft server platforms, network switches and routers, SIP, TCP/IP, QoS(CoS), and various carrier based telephony services
  • Experience with planning, installing, deploying, configuring and monitoring data telecommunications systems and services, including telephones, servers, routers, switches, and PBXs
  • Working knowledge of telecommunications and network analysis, performance, and communications tools


Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

  • Associate’s degree in a computer or other related technical discipline ( Note: Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.)
  • Two years of applied work experience in server and/or network support services are also required. Must possess state-of-the-art knowledge of computer network and/or server technology such as TCP/IP, Microsoft Windows, UNIX, LINUX and NetWare, and be familiar with hardware and software diagnostics. The above-mentioned qualifications could be demonstrated by possessing one of the following certifications:
    • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)
    • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Position Grade 25 Starting Salary Expectations The first two steps of the range are: $61,364 to $63,202 per year. Higher salary placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity. Position Grade Salary Range $61364 to $98472 Annual Salary FTE 1 PCC Benefits

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Work schedule requirements include early and late hours and weekends to meet timelines, provide off-hour maintenance, and respond to emergency situations. Must provide own transportation for travel between campuses and off-site locations.

Work is performed in an office environment with frequent interruptions and work pressure due to multiple priorities and deadlines. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis. The work environment also includes high computer-related noise levels (may require use of ear plugs), paper and equipment generated dust and exposure to cleaning fluids and other materials for cleaning equipment.

Position involves some medium to heavy lifting. Routine standing, walking and lifting of equipment (30-50 pounds). Learned physical skill for keyboarding and operating complex network and computing equipment.
