GLOBAL MARKETING SPECIALIST
Wesleyan seeks a Global Marketing Specialist in Middletown, CT.

The Global Marketing Specialist job duties include the following:

Perform marketing and outreach for the Fries Center for Global Studies ( FCGS ), as well as supporting global initiatives across the University, especially in the key markets of China and India.

Help coordinate marketing and communication efforts for the FCGS including blogs/newsletters, social channels, and web presence, and annual reports.

Support University-wide marketing efforts aimed at international audiences, with special focus on China and India, including coordinating our WeChat channel. In particular, assist Admission in efforts to establish Wesleyan as a leading voice on liberal education to prospective students and their families in China.

With the guidance of the FCGS Director, collaborate with the President’s Office, Advancement, and Admission to plan events overseas (such as Forums and related events) that contribute to marketing Wesleyan’s distinctive approach to liberal education.
Work with Advancement, Student Affairs (especially the Office of International Student Affairs), Admission, and other offices as appropriate.

Serve as liaison to parents and other members of our international student community (especially in China) to ensure the regular and clear distribution of information and on-going engagement in Wesleyan’s mission.

With the guidance of the Director of Development Research and Prospect Management in the Office of Advancement, conduct China-related prospect research to provide accurate, timely, and relevant information to drive decision-making for potential fundraising cultivation, qualification and engagement of alumni (and other Wesleyan constituencies) using financial assessment and business modeling tools.

Collaborate with eh FCGS Director and other campus partners to promote Wesleyan’s efforts in international markets by helping to explore future opportunities, with an emphasis on China and India. Coordinate key delegations and visitors to campus. Coordinate Wesleyan delegations, including the president, on international visits, forums, and other events. 5-10% national or international travel.


Minimum Qualifications

Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in International Business, Marketing, or a related field, and at least one year of experience conducting China-related prospect research using financial assessment and business modeling tools. Must also possess the following: an academic course in Chinese History; at least one year of experience with Chinese business culture; completed analysis of at least one digital marketing campaign; and experience facilitating at least one visit by an international delegation.
