Job Summary/Basic Function
The Coordinator, Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) program will be responsible for the online AGACNP program to ensure that the educational objectives of the program are attained. This position will coordinate with the Assistant Dean, Director of NP programs, and faculty to set admission and progression policies as well as curricular issues related to the AGACNP program. The candidate will also have oversight of AGANP adjunct faculty to include onboarding, mentoring, monitoring, development, and quality assurance in program delivery. The successful candidate must be committed to fostering a welcoming environment for a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Manage student issues in coordination with the Director of NP Programs and Assistant Dean for Nursing
• Manage and oversight of faculty concerns in coordination with the Director of NP Programs, Assistant Dean for Nursing, and the Online Nursing Operations Manager
• Maintain relationships with external constituencies, such as Pearson-Embanet and student preceptors
• Assist with admission decisions for AGACNP students
• Assist with accreditation and other reporting requirements
• Maintain teaching assignment, including course development and revision, negotiated with the Assistant Dean for Nursing
• Assist students with clinical placements based on process and policies set in place
• Attend scheduled Nursing Faculty meetings and ad-hoc meetings as they arise; Attend on-campus events as required (graduations, faculty development, etc.)
• Other duties as assigned
Work environment:
• Most of the time work will be on a computer
• Flexible schedule to include responsiveness to student needs days, evenings, and weekends as required
• Can be remote with flexibility in travel to campus as required
Minimum Qualifications
• MSN, nationally certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
• Unencumbered RN license and no discipline against either RN or certification in any state or federally; Ability to gain additional licenses and APRN recognition in additional states as requested
• Knowledge of MSN-NP progression plan and curricular requirements for an AGACNP program
• Excellent organizational and communication skills in writing and verbally
• Emotional intelligence for difficult conversations to guide students and adjunct faculty as needed
• Excellent command of MS Office (Word and Excel especially)
• Ability to learn new software systems quickly and proficiently
Preferred Qualifications
• Doctorate in Nursing or related field
• LMS Canvas experience a plus
