St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting résumés for the position of Prospect Research Coordinator. The job entails applying creative research techniques for reports and analyses on individual donor prospects as well as corporations, foundations and organizations. The position draws on multiple resources to assess giving capacity and philanthropic tendencies with the goal of generating new donations and fostering strategically important relationships for the College.

The Prospect Research Coordinator utilizes a Raiser's Edge database to implement strategies and tactics to keep donor portfolios up-to-date and prioritized, and to strengthen a prospect pipeline.

The successful candidate works with all gift officers and the Development team in prospect strategy sessions, creating reports, setting metrics, and keeping abreast of economic and fundraising trends. The position also helps maintain data integrity.

Qualifications:   A bachelor's degree is required with 3-5 years of experience in prospect research, development/fundraising, library research or an information-related field.  The successful candidate must have demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize data from a wide variety of sources. Proficiency in Internet research and data extraction, as well as the ability to organize and manage a wide range of projects with efficiency, is required. Experience with the Raiser's Edge database is preferred, as is an understanding of fundraising fundamentals.  Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered.  Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
