The School of Media & Strategic Communications, Oklahoma State University, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Multimedia Journalism. Candidates should have a demonstrated expertise in data journalism. Candidates who have additional professional journalism experience, teaching experience or academic scholarship related to business reporting, digital media platforms, health care journalism, political reporting, or race and multicultural reporting will be given preference. Responsibilities could include teaching undergraduate courses in the multimedia journalism major and in the SMSC core, as well as graduate level courses. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda of scholarly research and publication.

 

Application requirements
Candidates with a Ph.D., other appropriate terminal degree, or ABD with the expectation of completing the terminal degree within one year of employment are preferred. Candidates with a master’s degree and substantial professional experience also will be considered. Candidates with a strong multicultural background or international experience are encouraged to apply.
