Psychologist – Director of Integrated Behavioral Health

Department of Family Medicine: Psychologist and Director of Integrated Behavioral Health, Family Medicine Residency

 

The University of Washington Department of Family Medicine seeks applicants for a senior (Associate Professor or Professor on the Clinician/Educator track) full-time clinical psychologist position to join our faculty at the University of Washington Family Medicine Residency Program. 

Leadership Roles

  • Director of Integrated Behavioral Health for Department of Family Medicine
    • Develop department’s vision of Integrated Behavioral Health – lead strategy for clinical services across DFM, with a primary role leading at the UW Family Medicine Residency teaching site at Northgate
    • Provide oversight of the recruitment and deployment of Behavioral Health Clinicians across the department clinical sites, in collaboration with medical directors and the UWNC Assistant Director of Behavioral Health
    • Ensure the department’s integrated behavioral health services align with institutional contracting, billing, and documentation requirements
    • Collaborate with department leadership to align with other departmental activities
    • Liaison with Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Rehabilitation Medicine, and other departments regarding integrated behavioral health services
    • Facilitate enhancements to the electronic health record system to improve integrated behavioral health services
  • Education
    • Partner with current UW Family Medicine Residency Director of Behavioral Health Education to help guide Family Medicine residency behavioral health curriculum
    • Substantial participation in the teaching of UW Family Medicine residents
    • Provide clinical supervision and evaluation to both Family Medicine and Psychology residents
    • Liaison with the Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences Integrated Care Training Program, promoting program development and collaborations with the department to build psychologist education across the state of Washington
  • Psychology Residency Integrated Primary Care Track Lead
    • Co-Lead the psychology internship Integrated Primary Care track within the UW Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences Psychology Internship / Residency Program, ensure recruitment and program requirements are met

Clinical Duties

  • Maintain a part-time clinical practice as an integrated behavioral health psychologist, attending and treating patients at the University of Washington Neighborhood Clinics’ Northgate Family Medicine Residency Clinic

Requirements

  • Qualified candidates must have a Doctorate in psychology (PhD or PsyD) and 5 years’ experience in primary care practice
  • Prior experience directing integrated behavioral health services and / or behavioral health education are strongly preferred
  • License or license eligible in Washington State
