Under the supervision of the AVP of IT/CIO, the Program Assistant, Computer Services is responsible for directly supporting the AVP and OCIS in all administrative matters and assists with ensuring efficient and effective front desk operations by overseeing student workers and ensuring timely customer service. The Program Assistant is skilled in IT and performs basic professional functions using established policies, procedures, precedents and guidelines; and does other related work as required.
This is not a remote position and requires a physical presence on campus as determined by the Supervisor. It requires working on campus during the COVID-19 pandemic and interacting directly with students following all procedures and protocols set forth in the University’s Restart Plan and any procedures/protocols created through additional correspondence. The employee must have the ability to wear a face covering for the duration of the workday during the COVID pandemic or as determined by university protocol.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree is required. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute experience on a year-for-year basis. Applicants who possess an Associate’s degree may substitute two (2) years of position-related experience for the remaining two (2) years of education. Previous work experience in an IT Department is preferred. Candidate must have proficiency in all Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to: Access, Excel, Word and Outlook and the ability to learn to utilize various types of software, programs and electronic information systems used by the Office including, but not limited to: Adobe, Ellucian Colleague and website content management systems. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
The selected candidate will be required to pass a four (4) month
Working Test Period to become eligible for a regular
appointment.
