Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with five years of progressive human resources experience. SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification required.

 

General Function:

 

This person serves as the institution’s chief Human Resources Officer.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

(Duties and responsibilities listed are examples of work performed and may be modified as needs of the College may dictate)

 

  • Manage and administer employment services including recruitment, selection, hiring, promotions, leaves and separations, orientation and retirement
  • Ensure underrepresented candidates and employees are represented in all employment decisions.
  • Manage and administer the employee relations program including the college’s grievance and complaint
  • Interpret, develop, and communicate human resources policies.
  • Manage and administer the college’s classification and compensation plans for administrative/professional, faculty, and clerical and support staff; responsible for monitoring contracts and equitable salary
  • Manage and direct the entry and maintenance of all employee and personnel budget information, quarterly reporting of salary information to TBR, creation and maintenance of position classification, and HR tables in the Banner
  • Manage employee benefit programs and serve as a liaison between employees and Tennessee State Benefits
  • Develop and manage the budget for human
  • Administer the employee educational assistance
  • Responsible for monitoring and distribution of access and diversity faculty and staff development
  • Responsible for implementing, updating, and maintaining the Leave Time Entry
  • Responsible for college-wide mandatory
  • Coordinates the employee performance appraisal
  • Responsible for writing and carrying out the department’s Institutional Effectiveness
  • Responsible for monitoring and updating HR-related policies
  • Responsible for the preparation of internal and external surveys and reporting requirements including OSHA, and TBR reports as related to human
  • Maintain presence on Access & Diversity and CARE/BIT
  • Responsible for organizing human resources related events.
