The School of Social Work at Arizona State University (ASU) invites applications for (1) full-time(12-month), non-tenure-track, benefits-eligible lecturer position to begin March 9, 2021 at the Arizona Western College campus located in Yuma, Arizona. The School of Social Work (SSW) at Arizona State University seeks colleagues whose innovative ideas and teaching abilities support our mission of educating MSW students for social work practice. Candidates should have a strong record of accomplishments in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate students.

The SSW’s strong research and educational infrastructure includes the NIH/NIMHD funded Southwest Interdisciplinary Research Center, the Global Center for Applied Health Research, the Center for Applied Behavioral Health Policy, the Center for Child Well-Being, Family Violence Center, Office of American Indian Projects, Office of Forensic Social Work and Training, Office of Gender-Based Violence, Office of Global Social Work, Office of Latino Projects, Office of Offender Diversion and Sentencing, and Office of Sex Trafficking Intervention Research. Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the ASU School of Social Work program in Yuma
  • Coordinate Field placements
  • Advise and mentor students
  • Coordinate classroom scheduling
  • Serve as the main contact for the ASU School of Social Work program in Yuma
  • Recruit prospective students and outreach to community members
  • Additional administrative duties as needed
  • Teach graduate courses using a variety of modalities such as in person, online and hybrid
  • Grading and assessment
  • Curriculum development
  • Service contributions to the school, college, university and community.

Required Qualifications

· An earned master’s degree in social work from CSWE accredited institution

· Minimum of 2 years of post-MSW social work experience

· Experience teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level

 

Desired Qualifications

· Licensure (LMSW or LCSW)

· Previous experience as a Field Supervisor, Field Liaison, or Academic Advisor

· Experience with diverse populations

· Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
