LSC-Houston North Fallbrook is the latest location of the newest college in the Lone Star College system. LSC-Houston North Fallbrook delivers higher education opportunities to a traditionally underserved area of Houston. The 55,000 square-foot facility offers 14 classrooms, two computer labs and two science labs for students to take core courses to earn Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees.

Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The PT Coordinator II, Library is responsible for the oversight and implementation of processes, procedures, and policies for the Library. Works closely with all departments and is responsible for services, payroll, purchasing, delivery of materials, and resources for the Library.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Maintain and monitor the entire department budget expenses; includes directly advising and assisting the Director in preparing the yearly budget projections
  2. Assist in the hiring, scheduling, training, and supervising of full and part time circulation staff
  3. Manage all purchasing & reconciliation by requisition & P-Card
  4. Ensure that all purchased Library books are sent to Library Technical Services for cataloging and returned for shelving/reserve in a timely manner
  5. Submit requisitions, review & approve/deny purchase requests in accordance with budget, and maintain an inventory of resources such as promotional items, calendars, flyers, equipment, etc.
  6. Manage all quotes and contracts that are needed for Library purchases
  7. Attend regular Requisition Ad-hoc Committee meetings and act as a resource to help resolve complex issues. Work with other areas/department/units to achieve objectives
  8. Prepare deposits of Library revenue to be given to the Business Office
  9. Develop, monitor, and maintain a variety of spreadsheets, databases, reports, and present findings for internal/external constituents
  10. Prepare and communicate staff schedules and responsibilities to ensure both internal and external client needs are properly met and handled; coordinate, facilitate, and manage events & committees
  11. Schedule, organize, and prioritize information from the SNOW system to include implementing due dates or target dates
  12. Schedule, track, and monitor the digital calendars available on the LSC Web.
  13. Participate in various division meetings to ensure every department is up to date and informed of any changes
  14. Ensure that the Library is in compliance with federal, state, and local policies & procedures
  15. Manage disputes and problem solve with patrons, staff, and faculty when issues arise
  16. Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.



WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

  • PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • A climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards is the general work environment, unless otherwise stated in job announcement


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree and at least 3 year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience


Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is $17.16 Per Hour
