Position Summary:

This is a CHS-track (non-tenure) faculty position within the University of Wisconsin Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. The incumbent will work on the Hepatology & Transplant Hepatology service in the division, providing inpatient and outpatient care at UW Health approved locations as well as adjacent VA Hospital and outreach locations, along with clinical teaching responsibilities and active involvement in clinical teaching and scholarship.

Principal Duties:

Provide inpatient and outpatient care at UW Health approved locations as well as adjacent VA Hospital, Meriter Hospital, and outreach locations. Position will also include local and regional clinical responsibilities within the Hepatology Clinic located at the Digestive Health Center, Transplant Hepatology Clinic at UWHC, and regional clinic locations. Participation in night and weekend call rotation is possible.

Position will also include clinical teaching responsibilities and active involvement in clinical teaching and scholarship as appropriate to appointment. Participation in research endeavors of the Division expected. The successful candidate will also participate in professional, public, and university service.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

MD or DO, or equivalent, is required.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Must have completed accredited fellowship training in Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology.

Candidates for Associate Professor rank must meet criteria for appointment rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for CHS Track.

License or Certificate:

Must be eligible for Wisconsin medical license. Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hepatology.

Additional Information:

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial Caregiver Check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and then every four years.
