About the College/Department:
The successful candidate will 1) teach a variety of courses in school counseling, clinical mental health counseling, and/or doctoral-level counselor education and supervision; 2) provide clinical supervision to master and/or doctoral students; 3) actively work on a scholarly research agenda including publications and presentations; 4) actively serve at the university, community, and state and national professional levels; and 5) engage with faculty and students in a manner that emphasizes professionalism and collegiality.
EKU is uniquely situated at the interface of the beautiful Bluegrass Region of Kentucky and the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Lexington, 25 miles away, offers a wide array of cultural, culinary, and shopping opportunities. Richmond, Kentucky-home of EKU - is a small and welcoming town conveniently located on I-75. The historical town of Richmond is experiencing growth and has recently benefitted from collaboration between the city of Richmond and Eastern Kentucky University to revitalize both the campus and the downtown area. The EKU Center for the Arts, which serves as a venue for many national and international performing artists, represents the new face of Richmond. Numerous state and national parks with beautiful hiking trails and camping opportunities are a short drive away.
Position Summary:
The Department of Educational Leadership and Counselor Education at Eastern Kentucky University is offering a 9-month tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate level. The Department offers two master's degrees in counselor education, the M.A.Ed. in School Counseling and the M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Both master's degree programs are CACREP accredited. In the fall of 2014, the department launched an EdD with a concentration in Counselor Education and Supervision which recently received CACREP accreditation. The EKU counseling program is comprised of highly qualified and motivated collegial faculty dedicated to meeting the goal of excellence for their students and programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
An earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program with an emphasis in school counseling, or evidence of full-time teaching for a Counselor Education program for a minimum of one full academic year prior to July 1, 2013. Applicants should be eligible for certification as school counselors in Kentucky or have held equivalent certification in another state.

Experience serving in the role of school counselor in a school enrolling any configuration of K-12 students.
