Job Description

Northern Arizona University, a member of the Big Sky Conference, NCAA Division 1, is presently seeking a full-time Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. Details include; supervise and administer the strength and conditioning program for student-athletes of all sports. Work closely with the Athletic Training Program and the department medical staff in planning and implementing rehab programs for student-athletes. Schedule and provide supervision of the weight room and conditioning areas to provide the highest possible success for the student-athletes. Maintain a safe and effective weight room with a focus on the health and welfare of the student-athlete. Must have a working knowledge of Olympic lifts and variations. Must have a working knowledge of conditioning, speed, and agility training. Must have a working knowledge of modern periodization models. Administer the program in compliance with all University and NCAA rules and fulfill all duties assigned by the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach. Females and minorities are encouraged to apply.


Minimum Qualifications

 

At least two years of experience training a broad and diverse population of collegiate athletes
Bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field
CSCS or SCCC Certification
CPR and first aid Certified
Demonstrate proficiency with all Olympic lifts and variations


Preferred Qualifications

Greater than 2 years’ experience as a collegiate Strength and Conditioning coach
Masters in Exercise Science or related field preferred
Experience with men’s and women’s basketball
USAW Certification.
