Coordinator, Biology Lab and Lab Safety

The Scientific Lab and Lab Safety Coordinator position requires strong foundational knowledge in biology and biological lab techniques in order to organize and prepare academic labs for multiple courses and to implement and monitor lab protocols that protect the health and safety of students, staff, and faculty. The position requires professionalism in working with faculty, graduate teaching assistants, students, and external entities. This position will require the successful candidate to work independently with minimal guidance and instruction from a faculty member or department head. The coordinator will be familiar with complex equipment and its maintenance and repair needs. Work will be reviewed while in progress and upon completion for compliance to procedures. The coordinator will directly report to and will be evaluated by the department head. Additionally, this position contributes as a cross-functional employee of the University Safety Manager.
